Cafe Mary Grace

Sweet and Creamy for Christmas

Dec. 24, 2011. Everything is set for Noche Buena except for that one special treat, the DESSERT. I went to Trinoma just to buy a Mango Bravo from Contis. I arrived there at around 11am just to be surprised by the number of people, around a hundred maybe, gathered outside Contis. I was in a hurry so I went upstairs to Café Mary Grace. Good thing: there are only 6 people in line, bad thing: no more cakes, hahaha… But I was advised that cakes will be delivered around 2 in the afternoon so they’ll just reserve my name.  After 3 hours, at exactly 2pm, I return to the store and fall in line again for my most awaited Strawberry Shortcake.  After an hour of waiting, it’s finally my turn but unfortunately, no more Strawberry Shortcake so I just had a Velvet Cake as recommended by the Store Manager. And here’s the verdict:

I’m not really a fan of cakes and I’m a critic of it because I do know how to bake, it’s just that I don’t have an oven so I need to buy outside. This is my first time to try Café Mary Grace but I already heard a lot of good reviews about them and also tried their super yummy cheese roll before. For their Black Velvet Cake, I don’t really like it that much because it’s too sweet for my taste and its cream cheese frosting doesn’t taste like one BUT it’s pretty amusing that you’ll get addicted to it. Even my guy cousin, Nikko, who doesn’t love cakes, ate 3 consecutive slices!!!
Even though, Café Mary Grace’s Velvet Cake didn’t reach my expectation that much, I will still try other cakes from this store especially the Strawberry Shortcake I’m really craving for.
More Cafe Mary Grace cakes coming up...
